Paid Search Strategist

Overview

The Paid Search Strategist develops and manages paid search strategy, implementation, and day-to-day optimization for client accounts. Reporting to a Paid Media Manager within one of our team pods, the Strategist executes high-quality, data-driven work, contributes to account strategy, and supports complementary paid social and programmatic efforts. We’re looking for a passionate, hands-on digital marketer who thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, executes, and manages paid search campaigns for assigned clients—including tactics, budgets, projected impact, targeting, ads and keywords—and supports paid social and display activation under the Paid Media Manager’s direction.
  • Focuses primarily on paid search, with the ability to activate and manage paid social and display.
  • Mentors Associate team members on assigned accounts and reviews their work for accuracy and quality.
  • Executes ongoing optimizations and campaign adjustments for assigned accounts, aligned with strategy and business goals.
  • Delivers polished, accurate final deliverables.
  • Builds campaigns in platforms such as Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Meta; performs QA and final review for accuracy.
  • Proactively reviews campaigns on a weekly basis and identifies optimization opportunities, mapping out a plan to complete.
  • Manages weekly campaign optimization for assigned accounts—budget pacing, SQR review, performance check-ins, and execution against the optimization roadmap.
  • Contributes to monthly client reporting by surfacing insights and recommending optimizations and strategic adjustments.
  • Conducts keyword research, bid and budget management, ad copy development, and ongoing search-term and negative-keyword management.
  • Supports the Paid Media Manager in translating account strategy into executed campaigns.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience
  • Intermediate to expert-level knowledge in paid search required; proficiency in paid social preferred
  • Conversant with paid search terminology and major platforms (Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta, etc.)
  • Comfortable looking beyond platform level metrics to tie campaign performance to down-funnel success
  • Agency experience highly preferred
  • Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising certifications preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace tools (Gmail, Docs, Slides, Sheets), with intermediate to advanced Sheets/Excel skills
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of subject matter experts and clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Very strong ability to organize work and adhere to deadlines
  • Highly accountable and proactive
