Overview
The Content Marketing Strategist is responsible for leading and executing strategic, high-performing content initiatives across a variety of channels—including websites, blogs, social media, and digital advertising. This role requires a creative yet analytical thinker who is passionate about crafting content that aligns with both search performance goals and the unique voice and tone of each client’s brand. The ideal candidate is skilled in keyword research, content planning, and writing across formats, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Leads the development of content strategies for assigned clients in collaboration with SEO Strategists, balancing performance-driven goals with strong brand storytelling.
- Writes polished, optimized copy across a range of deliverables—website content, ad copy, blog posts, and social media content.
- Develops and maintains editorial calendars that reflect keyword research, topic trends, and competitive insights.
- Conducts in-depth research to inform content strategy, including audience analysis, SERP analysis, competitor benchmarking, and brand tone audits.
- Collaborates with design, SEO, and paid media teams to ensure cohesive cross-channel messaging and content alignment.
- Optimizes existing content to improve search performance and engagement.
- Reviews performance data (organic traffic, engagement, conversion rates) and provides insights and recommendations to inform future content efforts.
- Participates in client presentations and monthly reporting, contributing content-specific insights and strategic recommendations.
- Trains and mentors junior writers as needed, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in content marketing, copywriting, or editorial strategy; agency experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to write for a variety of audiences and content formats with attention to brand voice, clarity, and SEO best practices.
- Proficient in keyword research and content planning tools such as SEMrush.
- Strong understanding of SEO principles, content performance metrics, and user intent.
- Experience using content management systems (e.g., WordPress), Google Analytics, and Google Search Console.
- Comfortable working in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to deadlines.
- Bonus: Experience writing for the senior living industry.
